Red Daisy

This is the second painting that I have done with the acrylics. Its very bold and fun. I love reds! I had first debated if it needed something in the right corner but decided that it was different and I liked it just the way it is. This piece is only 20"x 24". Acrylic on canvas.

New Medium

I didn't give this piece a title. It was a commission from a friend. It is finished in acrylic on canvas with a bit of gold ink throughout. I really enjoyed doing this painting. So much so that I have started a collection of acrylics just in smaller size. This was well over 32x40.

Sweet Expressions

Isn't it cute how two little girls can be so focused on a piece of chocolate? This painting tells a story; one that could take on a different direction with each viewer. The balance of colour and texture in this piece paired with the interesting dialogue that is taking place here makes it a painting worth enjoying for awhile.

Quietness and Trust

This watercolour by Trish has captured the very essence of peace that is found in stillness. The pouring of light through the fog into the porch creates a welcoming entrance. The soft colours and fading background keep us focused on the warmth of this delightful wooden home. All this summed up with the text 'in quietness and trust is your strength'. Summers End

Titled 'Summers End' this young girl has come to the waters edge as though to say farewell to our most loved season as Autumn approaches. The glow of sun off of her hair and skin giving a feeling of warmth is contrasted with the cool blues of the water and shadow in the rocks. The size of this original watercolour is 17" x 21".

Light Street

This watercolour painting is the most recent piece for Trish, titled 'Light St.' The play of light and shadow gives this house a warm serenity. Sold with thanks, it is a great example of the commissioned work that Trish does in her home town.

Joy Bear

This piece is a work in progress. Trish is again using watercolour with a small fine brush. Her love for calligraphy is evident with the Arabesque design in the lettering of JOY.
With small children in the home there are plenty of toys and fuzzy friends to incorporate into a painting.

Art Cards

Sunflower art cards are blank inside and come in a package of 8 with envelopes, neatly wrapped in ribbon for gift giving. The verse around the flower was penned in watercolour with a nib by the artist (Trish Acres).

Portraits

'Children Are A Gift' is available as a reproduction from either the artist, or almost any Christian Bookstore in Ontario. It is a good example of some of the commissioned pieces that Trish will do throughout the year. She offers portraits of people or houses in either watercolour or pencil. Both make great gifts for family and friends.

'Pure in Heart' by Trish Acres is a 250 limited edition print. This painting finished in watercolour is a sample of the work that Trish enjoys most. Many hours are spent watching her children throughout the day and finding moments like these to capture in this timeless medium.

Trish and her husband live in Ontario, Canada with their five children. Each of whom have found there way into one of these beautiful paintings.
